I’m so pleased to announce that I will one again be reviewing TOKYOPOP titles on this site!
I had written previously that the TOKYPOP reviews were going to dwindle on this blog because the PR firm I work with was no longer supplying galleys from the publisher. TOKYOPOP reviews (heck, almost all manga reviews) are the bread and butter of this website, so I was really disappointed when I couldn’t get access to manga to review anymore.
I buy TOKYOPOP titles on my own, but that’s just dependent on my income, so I knew that there was going to be a huge drop in TOKYOPOP reviews. I went directly to the source–TOKYOPOP’s media department–and asked if I could review for them, and heard crickets.
Finally, just a couple of days ago I gave a little nudge and they responded to me! There was a transfer of positions and my email got lost in the shuffle…but I will be granted access to their digital galleys again for review, huzzah!
I asked for some recent but older publications and a couple ones releasing this month to get started again, so look forward to the following coming up on this blog:
- The Tale of Luvelia Kingdom
- I Picked Up a No-Good, Useless Prince Vol. 1
- Beneath the Falling Camellia Bloom, Vol. 1
- Hit Me Hard with Desire
- Spicy Milk Candy
- Walking in Your Tracks, Vol. 1
- The Arrival of Spring and Love
- 300 New Days With You
This will be in addition to the manga I review from Kodansha, Manga Mavericks, etc. I will also continue to review comics, too.
I’m not sure how I’m going to catch up because teaching starts for me August 17 (although I have to have the online courses ready by August 12). But I’m going to try to read and write rapidly the next few weeks.
