I’ve talked about and praised Libib on this website before. When I first moved back to Ohio from Japan, I did a massive clear out of books from childhood and early adulthood, and replaced them with the books I bought in Japan (both English and Japanese). Then I started collecting special edition books and manga, so the shelves filled up quickly (although there’s still empty space in some places).
All the while, except for my doujinshi, I’ve added all my books to my Libib library. According to the app, I have 549 physical books in my possession. I will add more to it, but today, that’s the magic number.
I made a video of my laptop screen for the first time to show you the type of books I own (manga seems to dominate as I have whole collections of series and a lot of BL). It took me three tries to get it right, and then adding some admittedly weird music from YouTube to make the video less boring. Have a look:
I’m very, very pleased. It’s a mix of writing references, fantasy fiction (both YA and adult), art books, manga, musical scores, comics, history, and a teeny bit of horror mixed in.
I haven’t taken pictures of the downstairs shelves yet because they’re incomplete, but once I have them filled I’ll do a post about it. I have been collecting books and little anime figurines to go on the shelves together, and since I’m a huge anime and manga nerd, I’m happy with how it’s looking. You can definitely tell it’s a Kristina Elyse Butke Library.
