GURREN LAGANN
Widely considered to be a generation-defining epic and among the best anime of its era, GURREN LAGANN first premiered in 2007 featuring animation production by studio GAINAX and ran for 27 episodes. In 2008, GURREN LAGANN THE MOVIE -Childhood’s End- was released, followed by GURREN LAGANN THE MOVIE -The Lights in the Sky Are Stars- in 2009.
MediaOCD will make two bestsellers available from Aniplex of America’s collection, the GURREN LAGANN Complete Blu-ray Disc Box and GURREN LAGANN THE MOVIE 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.
The GURREN LAGANN Complete Blu-ray Disc Box comes with all 27 episodes of the TV series plus both movies housed in a stunning box illustrated by Yo Yoshinari (Mechanical Design). This collector’s edition box set features both the special Blu-ray version of Episode 6, “There Are Some Things I Just Have to See!!”, as well as the broadcast version “Sit In the Hot Tub ’Til You’re Sick!”.
The GURREN LAGANN THE MOVIE 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray features both films that were remastered in 4K in celebration of the film’s 15th anniversary in 2023. The Blu-ray also contains audio commentary from staff, a special leaflet, as well as the English dub of both films, which was only available in North American theaters during the film’s 15th anniversary revival screening in January 2024.

Blogger’s note: This is absolutely exciting news. Speaking as a fan of Gurren Lagann, I have wanted to buy the Blu-Ray collection forever and it was only available on Crunchyroll, which has since paywalled its store, making their products unavailable without a certain tier-level subscription. I thought my chance of getting my hands on this series was lost, so I am delighted I have another chance through MediaOCD! — Kristina Elyse Butke
