WordPress hits you every day when you log in with your stats. On a daily basis, it happily tells me that my K-POP DEMON HUNTERS post is my #1 most popular. I’ve never been able to top it.

This made me wonder about my all-time stats since I created this website last July. Here are the top ten:

I am relieved that my “About” page and my “Books” page are in the top ten at least, but as you can see, what people come to read are my reviews of animation and manga.

There are 20 listings here. Three of them are animation-related, and ten are manga or comics reviews.

So, that’s what’s bringing people to this blog. Again, I’m grateful people are at least clicking on the “About” and “Books” page, but I devote a ton of time to writing about Son of the Siren, The Name and the Key, The Step and the Walk, and The Fear and the Flame, and…nobody is reading about them. Tooting my own horn about my work, chronicling the writing and publication process for them, and doing cool behind-the-scenes features like costume design and setting inspirations do not bring in the traffic.

This is a little bit of a bummer. I’m so grateful over a thousand people come to this blog a month. To me, that’s a lot of given the ups and downs of posting and losing my SEO whenever I transfer my website to a new host. But when I talk about my own writing, I’m shouting into a void.

I don’t want to stop, though. Maybe, just maybe, there’s one reader out there who cares about my books enough to want to know more about them. My blogs are for them.

In the meantime, I’ll continue doing what’s popular on this website, and that’s reviewing manga and comics and animation.
