One of the 1978 album covers for RASPUTIN, a disco hit by Boney M.

This song came to me late in life, courtesy of this TikTok/YouTube Shorts video:

AND THE SONG POPS UP IN MY HEAD AT LEAST THREE TIMES A YEAR AT RANDOM.

I thought it had a really catchy beat and I liked that it told the story of Rasputin in a clever, disco-music style. So I found the full version, and listened to that:

I am curious about other songs by Boney M. but haven’t made the time to search them out (oops), but I really like this one. I’ll even type out RA-RA-RASPUTIN, LOVER OF THE RUSSIAN QUEEN randomly on my social media as a post to see if anyone recognizes it or answers the call. Usually someone does!!

I do wonder if the TikTok/YouTube Shorts of @CaleBrownn dancing made this song popular again or what, but I’m grateful, because this song is a lot of fun to sing and clap your hands to.
