"I Should Have Read That" Book Tag

Close up of two open books on a table with a shelf of books in the background. I should have read that book tag

I originally found this post via Paper Fury but the post no longer exists. Luckily I also found it at R's Loft and I thought I'd give it a try!

Tag ten others to take part. No thanks!

Enjoy the tag! I plan to! And I hope you participate on your own blog or in the comments.

The Questions

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

A dragon rests atop of a tower, his tail looping around it on the cover of Samantha Shannon's priory of the orange tree

I've been told twice now that I need to read The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. But it's like an 800-page book and I'm really not into giant books like that.

A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

Two Japanese high school students stand on a bridge surrounded by red autumn leaves and a colorful sky with clouds on the cover of Mika's I Cannot Reach You Volume 3

There's a BL series, I Cannot Reach You by Mika, that I own all six volumes to but haven't actually read yet. I know I need to get around to it but I keep getting distracted by other things.

A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

Guinevere unsheathes Excalibur with sparks flying out on the cover of Kiersten White's The Excalibur Curse

I still haven't read the third book in the Camelot Rising trilogy, The Excalibur Curse, by Kiersten White. Once again, other books keep distracting me.

A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

An olive gray bookcover with purple leaves and grass on it - Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

I've never read Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. It sounds right up my alley, and I've seen the movie adaptation with Ralph Fiennes, but I've never gotten around to actually reading it.

A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

A gold cover with a circle with dragons and clouds on it - Rebecca Yarros's Fourth Wing

I've heard so much hype about Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. I've seen several of my favorite BookTubers cover it in their videos and it's been recommended to me by Amazon several times. I have no interest in reading it, though.

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet

The March sisters--four young women--are drawn amid flowering holly leaves on the cover of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women

I have loved countless Little Women adaptations (my favorite being the Winona Ryder version) but I have never actually read Louisa May Alcott's book!

A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

Two Asian women, one in a crown and one with a sword, and a tiger in the background, make up the cover of Elizabeth Lim's Her Radiant Curse

I don't think it's out yet, but I see Elizabeth Lim's Her Radiant Curse a lot on Instagram. But I think this is largely because I follow her.

Well, that's it for this book tag. It was a lot of fun to fill out and I hope you give it a try. See you next time!
