I have such exciting news! Son of the Siren is going to get an audiobook! The release date is TBA and preorders are TBA but we've cast the voice actor and everything is in production!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

The narrator we chose for Son of the Siren is Grant Freeman. He's got a lower voice range (perfect for Lirien, who is described as having a "gentle baritone" in the novel) and he killed it in his audition.

Once he signed, I made an audio recording pronouncing every name in the book and had my publisher pass it on to him. Then, Grant and I had a Zoom meeting where he went through all the major characters and either gave sample voices or discussed his interpretations for them.

While every character I hear in my head when I read Son of the Siren sounds American, Grant pictured a wider variety of cultures and accents. It gives him a chance to shine as an actor and it also makes the experience for listeners more exciting. I'd love to tell you more, but I'm going to let it all be a surprise!

I know audiobooks are very popular and have surpassed eBooks in sales, but for some reason I never thought Son of the Siren would get the audiobook treatment (for reasons I won't discuss here). I am absolutely delighted to know I was wrong and that we've got this in the works.

I am so grateful to my publisher, Oliver Heber Books, for orchestrating this. It's filled me with an excitement that I haven't felt in a very long time.

I'll keep you posted, friends!
