Snow White - Do you consider yourself beautiful?
I think I have a pretty face. But there are times I don't feel so good about myself.
Sleeping Beauty - How many hours do you sleep at night?
I usually go to bed (as in lie down) really early at night now. I'm in pajamas and stretched out by 7 or 8pm. But I don't fall asleep until around 10. I wake up a lot in the night due to nightmares, so my sleep doesn't feel restful. I feel like I need nine hours of sleep to be functional, but I get anywhere from four to seven hours regularly.
Cinderella - Do you have a curfew?
No! I'm an adult!
Rapunzel - Do you love being outside?
Yes, especially in the forest. My favorite forest in the whole entire world is Shiratani Unsuikyo on the island of Yakushima in Japan.
Red Riding Hood - Do you trust strangers easily?
Strangers love to talk to me, and I feel pressured to converse with them, so I guess I trust them enough to do so.
The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids - Are you easily fooled?
Yes. I am gullible and have trouble discerning when people are sarcastic. I tend to take everyone at their word and have a hard time sussing out liars.
Beauty and the Beast - What makes someone beautiful in your eyes?
How they treat other people, how kind they are, how comfortable they are with themselves, and how honest they are.
The Little Mermaid - What would you sacrifice for love?
In the past I made sacrifices for love that were very self-destructive. I don't think I can do something like that again. So...I kind of don't want to make sacrifices at all. I feel like love shouldn't require a payment or sacrifice.
The Frog Prince - What do you find disgusting?
Almost all vegetables (they taste bitter to me), umeboshi, natto, anything pickled...if I want to go deeper than that (and not talk about food), I think cruelty, bullying, duplicity, and manipulativeness is disgusting.
Jack and the Beanstalk - Do you have any plants?
I have tried several times to have plants, particularly flowers, and I always kill them. I really should give up on being a plant mom.
Puss in Boots - Do you have pets? If not, do you want them?
At one point I briefly had three cats. I just couldn't afford to take care of my babies properly, and made a lot of stupid mistakes with them as a new pet owner who never had animals before. I had to take them to a shelter when I couldn't find people to take them in. I bawled my eyes out when it happened, because although I had them for a short time, I loved them.
Bluebeard - What is your weak point?
I have crappy self-esteem and frequently need validation when it comes to things I care about. I also have a hard time telling people "no" and have let people walk all over me before. I don't stand up for myself often, and I get scared of letting people down easily. I feel like this is all related and counts as one big weak point.
Pinocchio - What is your biggest wish?
To be a published author who can write full time for a living.
Peter Pan - What is your mental age?
I've matured a lot over the years...in my 20s I think I had the mental age of a young, immature teenager, and that attitude continued on far too long. I calmed down a lot in my 30s and now I'm approaching my 40s, and I think my mental age matches my real age. I still make time to act goofy and silly, though.
The Star Money - What is your most valuable possession?
It's either my books or my computer(s). They are both valuable to me and I have something close to a panic attack when something goes wrong or I'm separated from them.
Gold Mary & Pitch Mary - Are you a hard worker or a lazy one?
If I am interested in it, I work very hard. If I hate it, I do the bare minimum of what's acceptable. I don't mean to be like this, but stress removes my motivation because I'm in survival mode and can't work when I'm unwell.
The Snow Queen - Who is your best friend? What would you do for them?
My friend Kathy. I love her so much! I don't want to say I'd do anything for her because I don't think I can be absolute about that for anybody, but I'd do a lot. I want to be there for her, but me being in Japan has made it hard. I miss her so much!
The Princess and the Pea - Are you sensitive?
Yes. I always have been. I cry very easily, when I'm sad or angry, but especially when I'm angry. I also take things very personally all of the time.
Godfather Death - What qualities make a good parent?
Wow! I'm not a parent so I don't know how to answer this question. If I think of my own parents, they were always very supportive of me and worked as hard as they could for their children. I can't thank them enough for that.
The Twelve Dancing Princesses / The Worn-Out Dancing Shoes - Do you like parties?
I like themed parties (like costume parties) just so I can dress up, but I'm actually quite socially awkward and don't like socializing on my own. If I don't know anyone at a party I clam up. I also get bored very easily.
The Emperor's New Clothes - Do you care a lot about your clothing?
Yes. I love costuming, so I throw a lot of myself into that, but even in terms of regular clothes, like what I wear to work and how I relax at home, I give a lot of thought to what I wear. The only exception is when I'm depressed...then I kind of look like a slob, only wearing a tee shirt and jeans. But I spend money on clothes and try to look presentable as much as possible.
The Brave Little Tailor - Do you consider yourself brave?
No. I think I am scared all the time.
