My parents were talking to me about going to college. I chose Capital University, an expensive private school, because I liked what it had to offer, but mostly because it was private, and I thought private schools were supposed to be hoity-toity compared to their public counterparts and therefore worth more in value, and therefore my future would be set.
CUE UPROARIOUS LAUGHTER
My parents tried really hard to make me think about the cost of college, but I just went with Capital on impulse. Although I enjoyed the English and History departments there (the teachers were AMAZING) I think I could've gotten the same education elsewhere--likely at a public college my parents were nudging me towards.
