Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Besides a holiday with good food and fun times, it's also a holiday to reflect on the things we are grateful for. I remember being very young and Mom asking us, "What are you thankful for?" at the dinner table, and we each took turns answering her question.
Well, here are 25 questions for families who love to ask questions around the dinner table. I got this from Forte and per my usual bloggy self, will answer all of them in a single post. Read on, friends, and ask these questions around your dinner table, too!

What is one thing you are thankful for this year?
I'm so, so glad Son of the Siren found an agent and publisher and is out in the world.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Turkey. My cousin, when she cuts the turkey, kindly separates white meat from dark meat. I eat both, but prefer white meat. It's all about the texture.
Who is one person you are thankful for? Tell them!
Super thankful for my Mom! I'll be happy to tell her!
When is the best day to start listening to Christmas music?
No Christmas music should play before December 1st. Period.
What is one thing you hope to be thankful for next year?
Completing a manuscript and submitting it to my agent.
What is your love language?
Kind words backed up with consistent actions.
Have you read any good books lately?
Unfortunately I've been stuck on the same two books for a really long time as I've lost the motivation to read. I do have books I want to get into, but my brain is like, Nope.
What is something you learned about yourself this year?
That I'm pretty much scared of everything.
What is the best holiday movie?
I have four: A Christmas Carol (starring George C. Scott), It's A Wonderful Life, Scrooged, and Nutcracker: The Motion Picture.
Pick your favorite picture on your camera roll this year. Why did you choose that picture?
My favorite picture on my camera roll is actually multiple pictures: I save photos of all the upcoming BL announcements from Seven Seas and Yen Press off of Twitter so I can keep track of them when they come out.
What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Putting up the Christmas tree after Thanksgiving.
What music are you loving these days?
Schmetterling (orchestral version) from Tokyo Ghoul.
What sounds fun to you right now?
Going back to Japan.
What is a challenge you overcame this year?
The hurdle that was going on submission for Son of the Siren. I think it's far more nerve-wracking than querying because your agent is doing the work pitching to editors, who have the final say in whether or not your book gets published.
What is something that brings you joy?
My mom's vanilla cake.
What is something you're looking forward to?
Galaxy Con in Columbus. It's the weekend of December 6th. I prepaid everything months ago and can't wait to see Justin Briner and David Matranga.
Who is somebody that makes you laugh?
My brother.
What is a new skill you'd like to learn?
It's not a new skill, but I would like to not suck at math.
Favorite TV show or movie?
My favorite movie is Elizabeth starring Cate Blanchett.
Who is somebody you admire? Why?
Carrie Fisher. I don't really admire her for Star Wars, even though she was great in that. She was a talented writer, very funny, and dealt with bipolar disorder. I'd like to be able to have some of her skills.
What is your favorite animal?
Cat! One of my favorite sounds is a cat meowing.
What is something you grieved this year?
I lost my Uncle Steve to cancer, and then, someone who had been with the family for like twenty years--Fred.
What are you most proud of?
That Son of the Siren got published and is out in the world.
When do you feel most relaxed?
When I'm sleeping, as long as I don't have any nightmares.
What is your favorite part of Fall?
When the weather gets cool enough to wear sweatshirts and cardigan sweaters.
