I’ve got three writing-related thresholds I’ve recently passed that have put me in a pretty good mood. Let’s go!
13,000
The Step and the Walk, the second book in THE DARKENING GATE TRILOGY, has just passed 13,000 words in the manuscript. This is very, very fast work for me.
My goal is to have the book be similar in page count to The Name and the Key, so all I have to do is repeat this milestone about five more times and I’ll have a completed book.
My goal is to have the book completed by March 2026 and ready to go to my publisher by April, after beta reads and editing. This is much faster than I’m used to going, but The Step and the Walk has been a real breeze to write thus far!
5,000
This website passed 5,000 all-time views. Every time I’ve rebuilt a website from the ground up, it loses SEO and falls in Google; loses views; and loses subscribers. I’m so shocked to have gotten this many so far when I transferred and redesigned my site back in July.
150
I passed 150 posts written on this site. I did some copying + pasting from the previous website because I couldn’t bear to lose certain content, but other than that, I’ve been shooting out original posts, and pretty frequently, too. I have been writing whenever I feel like it, and apparently, I’ve felt like doing it a lot. While it’s been all over the place, this averages out to 25 posts a month. Whew!
