Here are twelve of the best-looking covers I’ve seen, although I think we are in a golden age of cover art, and more stuff is coming to add to my gigantic list of gorgeous cover design and art. This is in no particular order–my collage maker auto-generated the order of the books. I can’t pick a number-one favorite, anyway!

1. World’s End Bluebird vol. 3 by Anji Seina. Art: Anji Seina.

2. Song of the Six Realms by Judy I. Lin. Art: Danlin Zhang.

3. Nothing But Blackened Teeth by Cassandra Khaw. Art: Sam Araya.

4. Hazelthorn by C.G. Drews, Fae Crate Edition. Art: @lichen_and_limestone

5. The Picture of Dorian Grey, Litjoy Edition. Art: @audreybenjaminsenart

6. Daughter of Smoke & Bone – 10th anniversary. Art: Jelena Kevic Djurdjevic

7. – Creatures of Will and Temper by Molly Tanzer. Art: Eduardo Recife

8. – Belladonna by Adalyn Grace (UK cover). Art: Teagan White

9. – An Enchanted Knight by Hildie McQueen. Art: Dar Albert

10. – A Treachery of Swans by A.B. Poranek. Art: @audreybenjaminsenart

11. – A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross. Deluxe Collector’s Edition. Art: @balbusso_twins

12. A Rose in Winter by Kathleen Woodiwiss. Art: H. Tom Hall.

There’s some recurring themes here that I like. The portraits of the characters (who happen to be mostly women) are rendered beautifully. There’s excellent use of color. The art is memorable. They all have an old-fashioned, romantic look to them, regardless of the genre.

I want to point out that An Enchanted Knight is an Oliver Heber book (my publisher) and it has a lovely cover. When writers submit their cover requests, we can show covers that we like, and it would be so cool if I got the same cover designer as Hildie McQueen for my trilogy The Name and the Key. After all, the cover is the first thing readers see, and it has to look fabulous.

Do you recognize these covers? Do you have any covers you’d like to share?
